Kickin' style Fried Chicken

Kickin' Fried Chicken is a food chain from  South Carolina, USA. They serve these juicy tender fried chicken. A little bit different than a normal fried chicken taste. 

I have a friend who introduced me to southern fried chicken which I fell in love but actually tasted the Kickin' Fried Chicken in my travels. So, here is the recipe for you, hope you guys enjoy this one.


Preparation Time: 20 minutes 
Cook Time: 10 minutes per batch 
Serves: 3-4

Ingredients:

To Marinate:
Chicken: 500 gms
Milk : 1 cup
Buttermilk or Lemon juice : 2 Tbsp 
Hot sauce/Buffalo Sauce : 1 tsp
Egg : 1

Dry mix:
All purpose flour: 1.5 cups 
Red chili powder: 1.5 tsp 
Ground black pepper: 1/2 tsp 
Onion powder: 1/2 tsp 
Ginger powder: 1/2 tsp 
Dry oregano: 1/2 tsp 
Salt to taste 

Method:
Take all the ingredients listed under marinate, mix well and marinate for 30-40 minutes.
Take all the ingredients listed under dry mix, mix them to make the dry mix ready.
Take the chicken out, roll them into the dry mix, dip into the milk mixture again, roll in the dry mix again and keep them to a side till the oil is heated.
Heat oil for deep frying, fry the chicken in small batches 3-4 pieces, on medium heat until they are cooked thoroughly about 10 minutes.
Drain them onto a paper towel and serve hot with honey mustard or ketchup.
