Double Ka Meetha

Double Ka Meetha is another famous sweets from Hyderabad. Normally milk bread available in India is used to make this sweet. It soaks up the milk really well. I used white bread which works as well.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Serves : 4-6

Ingredients:
Bread : 6 pieces
Ghee : 4 tbsp
Milk : 1 cup
Sugar : 1 cup
Elachi/Green cardamom: 2 powdered
Cashews to garnish

Method:
Cut the bread into 4 pieces each.
Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a pan and fry half of the bread till they turn golden on both sides. Take them out, add the rest of ghee and bread and follow the same process.
Boil milk till it's half a cup.
Add enough water to cover the sugar, bring it to a boil and the syrup should be just enough to stick to the fingers.
Add the cardamom powder and sugar syrup to the bread. Let it sit for 1 minute and add milk and toss gently.
Let it sit for 5 minutes to absorb all the liquid.
Serve warm garnished with fried cashews.
