Easy pepper Chicken drumsticks

This is a very easy yet delicious pepper Chicken dish that can be served as a starter or a side dish. It's not too spicy but has a good flavor from basic spices.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes 
Cook Time: 25 minutes 
Serves : 4

Ingredients:
Chicken drumsticks/leg pieces: 6
Onion : 1 sliced thinly 
Red chili powder: 1 teaspoon 
Garam masala: 1 teaspoon 
Turmeric: 1/2 teaspoon 
Fresh ground pepper: 1 teaspoon 
Salt to taste 
Water: 1/4 cup 
Ginger garlic paste: 1 tablespoon 

For tempering :

Cloves: 5
Elachi/green cardamom: 2
Cinnamon: 1" stick 
Cumin: 1/2 teaspoon 
Curry leaves: 1 sprig 

Method

Heat oil in a pan and add ingredients listed under for tempering except curry leaves and fry for 1 minute. Add curry leaves, ginger garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute. Add onions and sauté for 3 minutes. Add chicken, all spices and mix well. Fry for 5 minutes. Add 1/4 cup of water and close lid and cook on medium heat for 10 minutes. Open lid, mix well and fry for 2-3 minutes until all the gravy is thickened. Turn off the stove.
Serve hot as a starter or a side with rasam or sambar rice.
