Maida Burfi

Maida (all purpose flour) Burfi is a very simple yet delicious sweet that can be made in 15 - 20 minutes. 
It's a great recipe to make for festivals or just like a snack. 
The sweet requires less ingredients and it's a fail proof recipe.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes 
Cook Time: 15 minutes 
Makes : 10 pieces

Ingredients:

Maida/All purpose flour: 1 cup
Sugar: 1 cup
Ghee : 1/4 cup melted
Water : 1/3 cup 
Food color : a pinch
Almonds : 5 Finley chopped 

Method:

Heat ghee, grease a pan to pour the Burfi and keep aside.
Heat a pan with ghee and add maida. Fry for 2 minutes. Take it out into a plate.
Add sugar and water to the same pan, mix well and bring it to a boil. The syrup should be one string consistency. Will take about 3-4 minutes. Add fried maida to sugar syrup, keep mixing so no lumps are formed. In about 2-3 minutes, the Burfi should leave the sides of the pan.
Pour the Burfi into the greased pan and garnish with almonds.
Let it cool for 10 minutes and cut into desired pieces.
Store in an airtight container for 1 week.
