Baked Aloo Tikki

Aloo Tikki is an evening snack normally made stovetop. I tried baking the Tikki using same ingredients but adding Panko  bread crumbs for crispyness.
Kids loved this version compared to the stovetop version.
Coming to the recipe...

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Bake Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 3-4

Ingredients:
Potatoes: 3 large boiled, pealed and mashed
Peas : 1/4 cup
Onion: 1 chopped finely
Green chilies: 2 chopped finely
Red chili powder: 1 tsp
Amchur/ Dry mango powder: 1/2 tsp
Corn starch: 1 tbsp (for binding)
Salt to taste

Bread crumbs: 1 cup (I used Panko)

Method:
Mix all ingredients except bread crumbs really well to make a nice smooth dough.
Make a lemon size ball and press that into a Tikki shape.  Roll them in bread crumbs and Place the Tikki's on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and drizzle some oil over the Tikki's.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the Tikki's are golden brown.
Serve hot with green chutney, sweet chutney or hot sauce.

Note: if you want to cook them stovetop, make the Tikki and place them on hot tava with some oil. Cook for 4 minutes each side. No bread crumbs needed.
