Jeera Aloo is a dry dish from Punjabi Cuisine which is super easy to make and works really well as a side dish. It works really well for lunch boxes too.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 2-3
Ingredients:
Potatoes: 6 large peeled and cubed
Green chilies : 5
Jeera /Cumin seeds : 1 tablespoon
Cumin powder: 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Method:
Take the green chilies in a mortar pestal and make a coarse paste.
Heat oil in a pan and add Jeera. Fry for 1 minute until they splatter.
Add green chilies and fry for 1 minute.
Add potatoes and fry for 7-8 minutes until they are cooked but not over done.
Serve hot with Jeera rice or Roti.
