Marble Cake

It's my 400th post on the blog. Celebrating with a marble cake. The marble cake I made is a vanilla cake with streaks of chocolate cake. This cake will satisfy both vanilla and chocolate cake lovers. I personally love these mixed flavors.
This cake works well for all kinds of parties but especially birthday parties. Kids will enjoy the flavors.
Make sure to use eggs and butter at room temperature.

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Bake Time : 25-28 minutes for a pound cake and 35-40 minutes for a 13x9 cake
Serves: 10

Ingredients:

Cake flour : 2 cups
Baking Powder : 2 teaspoons
Salt : 1/2 teaspoon
Unsalted Butter : 2 sticks or 8 oz (at room temperature)
Sugar : 3/4 cup
Brown sugar : 1/2 cup
Eggs : 2 large at room temperature
Egg yolks : 4 at room temperature
Vanilla extract: 1 tablespoon
Milk or buttermilk: 160ml at room temperature
Coco powder : 2 teaspoons

Method:

Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Beat the butter in a large bowl until smooth and creamy.
Add both sugars and beat on high for 3 minutes.
Add eggs and egg yolks slowly and beat on medium. Add vanilla.
Add the dry ingredients slowly and mix on low speed. Add buttermilk or milk and mix gently.
Take 1 cup of batter and add the cocoa powder and mix well.
Pre heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 177 degrees Celsius.
Take a cake pan, pour a layer of vanilla batter, add a little bit of chocolate batter on top and pour remaining vanilla batter on top. Using a sharp knife or spoon, swirl the batters.
Bake the cake for 25-28 minutes for a pound cake pan, insert a toothpick in the middle and it should come out clean. (If using a 13x9 pan, bake for 35-40 minutes)
Turn off the oven, let the cake rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

To make your own cake flour:
All purpose flour : 1 3/4 cup
Corn Starch: 1/4 cup
